Chicago Family Fun

When planning a trip to Chicago with children, the best time to visit is off season or right before it starts getting busy. The festivals and parades are best suited for children at least over 12. An example would be St.Patrick's Day. As exciting as it is to see a bright green river, it will probably be cold and many adults out celebrating. So if you want to avoid carrying your child through muddy puddles and crowds of people after they are satisfied with five minutes of a parade they could hardly see, then plan for another time.

The Chicago City Pass lets you choose five events to see. If the weather is great and not cloudy, you can enjoy a view from the Willis Tower. It is a great savings pass if you plan on sight seeing. Our taxi driver shared that he can check out a pass to any of the buildings in the city and often enjoys weekends with his son at the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, etc. There are so many perks to being a resident of Illinois, which means that us tourists make up for that cost saving.

Chicago is a busy city, but always so many things to do and places to see. Where is your favorite place to visit? Do you have any special places that are not frequented as much as others?
