Visiting Washington, D.C.

Family time in D.C. and there were so many items on our list to see.

Clearly, not enough time to see them all. You can visit D.C. multiple times with new places to explore and more history to learn about.

The National Mall is located downtown and is a must see. There are people everywhere, every day. There are great night tours you can catch, if you have business keeping you from those gorgeous sunsets behind the National Monument. NPS.gov has all the information you need about hours and events. All the monuments have a history behind them that makes them all so special.

National Air and Space Museum was very enjoyable for young children. It really did not take as long to go through everything. The museum is open regular business hours and has field trips from local schools almost daily. You will need to keep a close eye on your little one with all the children here. Another favorite, is the Museum of Natural History. If you looks this site up on Instagram, you will see numerous pictures of an elephant replica! Truly, a fantastic museum for your family to spend all day. The exhibits are numerous and so detailed.

We did not have time to explore some of the gardens listed in D.C. as a must see and that time of year it was getting colder, so we opted for the Art Museum. Amazing, is all I can say. Kiddos might have more fun in the store on site but that place could be a monthly visit, if I was a local.

There might be a special restaurant you want to check out but with all the walking you do, please give these little restaurants you come across a try. Coming from a state where there is not as much flavor, it was fun trying new places.

Have you been to D.C. and what is your favorite venue to visit? If you have yet to travel, what do you think you'll enjoy the most and why?

Happy Traveling!
